The Swanton Zoning Administrator is locally appointed for a 3-year term by the Swanton Legislative Body.
Other duties of the ZA include processing applications for conditional use permits, variance appeals, site plans, lot line adjustments, & minor and major subdivisions. The ZA establishes the hearing date & time for these applications to be reviewed and acted upon by the Development Review Board (DRB). Each hearing must be publicly noticed at least 15 days prior to the hearing & notices of the hearing must be mailed to every abutting property owner of the applicant property. The ZA will explain the process in detail as well as the applicable fees. It is best to call for an appointment.
